Psyonix today announced Rocket League Sideswipe, a standalone Rocket League experience built for iOS and Android. The title is expected to launch later this year with a Regional Limited Alpha test available today in Australia and New Zealand. Rocket League Sideswipe will let up to four players compete in the usual rocket-fueled action, as both 1v1 and 2v2 matches will make an appearance in the mobile adaptation. Psyonix mentioned that each match will be “fast-paced” and run for only two minutes....

A closely followed story over the past week, Sony’s rumored cloud-gaming partnership with Gaikai will allegedly allow current-generation hardware to play PS2 and PSone games through a streaming medium. According to GamesIndustry, the service will offer first-party games and would allow third-party publishers to sell back catalog games to players. This new information would seemingly point to Gaikai expanding their model from their demo-only offerings to full games – something that should ease the minds of PlayStation users who only saw Gaikai as offering demos, and farming out the purchase of games to other services....

Splatoon 3 exudes a post-apocalyptic vibe, but the developers will be “renovating” prior maps for the game, according to a recent job listing. Nintendo Everything reports that the big N is looking for a level designer that can renovate existing stages from prior games, adjust weapons, stages, and game modes, and can place stage objects per game mode.
