Developer George Broussard discusses a new rumor via Twitter indicating that Konami shut down Kojima Productions Los Angeles and fired all 35 employees. According to rumors, one of Hideo Kojima’s former studios, Kojima Productions Los Angeles, has been closed by Konami and all 35 staff members have been let go. The rumor comes from 3D Realms and Apogee co-founder George Broussard, who has an established track record with breaking news related to layoffs....

The former Vancouver Titans players have been a hot commodity since parting ways with the team a few short weeks ago as a number of players have been picked up by teams already with presumably more on the way. The biggest signing so far came when the San Francisco Shock announced Jooseok “Twilight” Lee as part of their already stacked roster going forward. Former rival now turned teammate, Twilight has the chance to prove himself away from Vancouver while also filling any gaps (not many) in the Shock’s roster....

About a week ago, rumors sprang up concerning a possible Nintendo Switch conversion of the canceled would-be Xbox One exclusive Scalebound, but a former PlatinumGames producer has taken to Twitter to dispel those claims. Though the game never saw life on Microsoft’s console, fans wanted to believe that this hardware-pusher could somehow see the light of day on a system much less powerful than the one for which it was initially being developed....

The Sega Dreamcast is getting a new game nearly 20 years after it was discontinued. The Sega Dreamcast failed for many reasons, critics say, such as the release of the PS2 and a poor lineup of games, but the console is something of a cult favorite and has many fans around the world. PixelHeart, a video game publisher which releases titles for older consoles such as the Sega Dreamcast and current-generation consoles, has confirmed that Arcade Racing Legends will be available on Dreamcast this month....

PS3 owners were ripe with excitement and full of questions at E3 earlier this year, when Sony’s 3D display for the PlayStation was unveiled. The big question was the release date, which has now been made official by Sony: November 13th When gamers purchase the display for $499.99, they will receive the 3D display, one pair of 3D glasses, the MotorStorm Apocalypse Blu-ray game, and an HDMI cable. PlayStation’s Remote Play function is confirmed to be coming to Windows and Mac operating systems, thanks to a recent tweet from Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida. Sony have announced today that their Remote Play feature, which is currently available on the PS Vita systems and some Sony Xperia smartphones, is being expanded to allow users to access their PS4 devices from their home PCs. Remote Play will allow users to play their PS4 titles using either a Windows or Mac operating system, so long as their PlayStation is plugged in somewhere....

Another day, another reason for people to start feeling a little dodgy about the upcoming PlayStation 5. While console releases are typically shrouded in some veil of ambiguity, their reveals are usually not this protracted. For the third year running, a PlayStation-exclusive game has won the most Game of the Year awards. Among every media outlet that honors games with a Game of the Year award, The Last of us 2 won the overwhelming majority of them. A Resetera thread totaled all of the awards and determined that TLOU2 won 148 GOTY awards, while the runner-up, Hades, won only 36. Using the same method of totally GOTY awards, TLOU2 follows Death Stranding and God of War as the third PlayStation-exclusive game in a row to win the most GOTY awards....
