The Nintendo Switch has had one of the best first years of any video game console ever made. The Switch has already outsold the Wii U’s lifetime sales in Japan and is expected to have already done so everywhere else in the world. The reason for this is due to how incredible the lineup of games for the Switch was during 2017, which included the likes of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, and what may be the definitive port of Stardew Valley....

The Resident Evil franchise has been the marquee name in horror gaming since the first title in the series was released for PlayStation way back in 1996. Yet, despite the fact the Resident Evil franchise is the most influential, important, and successful franchise in all of horror gaming, there’s always been a debate about how “scary” the Resident Evil games are. Different things scare different people, but there’s always been this idea that part of Resident Evil‘s blockbuster success can be attributed to the fact that it’s not as intimidating as the Silent Hill franchise or some of the other scariest games ever made....

Marvel Studios revealed a lot of Phase Four during its San Diego Comic-Con panel, including a look at the more magical side of the MCU. They officially announced a Doctor Strange sequel called Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. As the title suggests, the movie will once again show the Sorcerer Supreme exploring weird side dimensions. However, audiences were surprised to learn that Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch, will appear in the movie....

Miraak is a Dragonborn that lived long before the events of Skyrim and the events of the current Dragonborn that defeated Alduin. There are plenty of open-world RPGs out there, covering just about any setting, from sci-fi, to historical fantasy, to high fantasy. These open worlds can vary in quality as all games can, but few have ever reached the status of Skyrim. A ton of games have tried to replicate the open-world magic of Skyrim, but none have managed to quite hit the mark. That’s not to say there haven’t been other great open-world games released since then, The Witcher 3 is a fantastic example of another open-world RPG that’s a cut above the rest, but that and the world of Skyrim still feel quite different....

The latest update for Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne HD Remaster has added a feature that will let players choose the skills inherited by demons during fusion, removing a frustrating random element from the game. One of the main mechanics of the Shin Megami Tensei & Persona series is demon fusion. In most entries in the series, the main character can fuse demons together, in order to make stronger creatures. In the later entries in the series, the player could choose which skills were inherited from the parent demons....

Open-world designs have changed a lot over the generations, making their sprawling landscapes somewhat intimidating to explore. Where older titles featured a more streamlined location to navigate, current games such as the Assassin’s Creed franchise have grown to extraordinary levels. Over a year after the release of 2018’s God of War, it has been repeatedly suggested by multiple sources that a sequel to God of War is in the works, including by game director Cory Barlog himself. Sometimes games and movies reflect reality, and this is apparent in the story of two of the actors in the Spider-Man games, specifically the recently-remastered PS4 game and Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
