A new patch has dropped out of nowhere for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which has added a new stage, changed the music options on several stages, and improved the online modes for the game. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has received numerous updates since launch, which have mostly focused on adding characters, tweaking the gameplay of existing characters, and introducing new modes to the game. The most recent patch added Min Min from ARMS as a playable fighter, along with a stage and a number of tracks from the game....

The Sonic the Hedgehog movie has been filling out its cast, with James Marsden playing a small town sheriff named Tom Wachowski and Jim Carrey starring as Dr. Robotnik/Eggman. Until today, the title role still had yet to be filled, but we now know who is playing the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog in the upcoming film. It’s been announced that actor and comedian Ben Schwartz, perhaps best known for his work on Parks and Recreation as the obnoxious Jean-Realphio, will be playing the voice of Sonic in the Sonic the Hedgehog movie....

Today, MachineGames announced a new Indiana Jones game. The teaser was a bit scant, but it showed all the bits you’d expect - map, whip, hat, etc. It’s a natural fit, isn’t it? The first few of their Wolfenstein games are some of the best times you can have killing Nazis, which makes them the perfect studio to handle the preeminent Third Reich puncher. Yet I couldn’t help to be reminded of the other Indiana Jones game - the one from the mid-aughts that got cancelled prematurely, mind you, not the whiz-bang Tomb Raider clone or the decent adventure game....

Mortal Shell is one of the big surprise announcements of the summer. Revealed during the PC Gaming Show 2020, Mortal Shell is a Souls-like action RPG that leans into Dark Souls’ darker fantasy elements. And now fans can try Mortal Shell for themselves, as a beta version has been made available to everyone on PC. This past week, Mortal Shell developer Cold Symmetry put out a closed-access demo for its game....

Spider-Man: Miles Morales introduces you to a cat also named Spider-Man, but you won’t be able to swing around the city with him in tow right away. Spider-Man: Miles Morales was released on PS4 and PS5 last week. Despite only being on the market for a few days, many of you will have played through the game’s campaign already. That’s down in some part to Miles Morales being far shorter than the first game....

A new report suggests Spider-Man: Miles Morales could include a remastered version of Marvel’s Spider-Man. The reveal that Spider-Man: Miles Morales, a follow-up to Marvel’s Spider-Man, will be one of the first games released on PS5 was met with a mix of confusion and excitement. Sony and Insomniac didn’t do a great job with the reveal as different people reported different things about the game. It was a sequel, then an expansion, then a standalone game....

This past week Square Enix celebrated the birthday of Final Fantasy 7’s Aerith. The celebration went viral across social media, showing that the Final Fantasy 7 Remake has brought back the classic JRPG into the modern discourse. Capcom reveals that a special Resident Evil 7 event is on its way to London, England, tasking participants with exploring the Baker home in real life. Resident Evil 7 promises to be a departure from the recent action-packed adventures of the series, bringing terror back to the franchise.
