Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark capitalized last year on the classic 1980s literary horror franchise responsible for generational childhood trauma with a feature film that—having earned $105.8 million worldwide—may not have set the box office scene on fire, but certainly provided a big enough bang for its studio’s budgetary buck. Consequently, sequel plans are now moving forward. The creative band is getting back together for the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark sequel movie, with director André Øvredal and writers Dan Hageman and Kevin Hageman set to return....

The Sea of Thieves update that everyone has been waiting for is finally here. Rare announced an update for its online multiplayer pirate game a few weeks back, and the Ships of Fortune update is now live. Some of the highlights of the update include the ability to join in a new emissary system, updates to PvP, and of course, the ability to have cats as pets within Sea of Thieves....

Some major changes are coming to Sea of Thieves next year as Rare has announced a major shift to seasonal content for the game, the addition of an optional Plunder Pass, and some smaller updates. Replacing monthly updates in Sea of Thieves, each season will run for roughly 3 months and will be highlighted with the addition of featured events while continuing smaller live events that will include new rewards, in-game store updates, and a new progression system to level up....

Virtua Fighter 5 is getting a remaster, in case you hadn’t heard. Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and Sega AM2 are porting the entire game over to the Dragon Engine, the same one that powers Yakuza 6, Yakuza: Like A Dragon, and probably will power Lost Judgment when it arrives in September. This engine swap comes with a visual update for the PS4, including full HD graphics, new lighting, better shaders, improved textures, and updated stage designs....

Shadow Complex Remastered may have been the most high-profile PS4 game to not be backward compatible on the PS5. However, that has changed, as Chair Entertainment announced that Shadow Complex Remastered is now playable on the PS5. Shadow Complex is an action platformer that originally released on PC and the Xbox 360 in 2009. Critics gave the game rave reviews upon release, with several outlets calling the title one of the greatest arcade games to release on the Xbox 360....

Raiding in World of Warcraft has been a mainstay of the MMO’s end-game since the very beginning. It’s long been a way to continue playing the game at max-level without losing a sense of progression, and the addition of the public raid finder known as Looking For Raid (LFR) opened up this content to more casual players. Sony has revealed it is experimenting with bringing some of its games and IPs to mobile to complement its triple-A titles. PlayStation really added to its arsenal when it comes to exclusives and new IPs during the PS4 era. Despite the warm reception received by the PS Plus Collection, Sony boss Jim Ryan has admitted it may not be added to in the future. Choosing which next-gen console to buy is always a tough decision. South African-based independent video game studio Design Imps recently announced the Early Access entry time frame for its upcoming dice-based, deck-building, roguelike adventure The Endless Wyrd. You can prepare your deck of dice to scavenge the Wyrd in Q3 of 2021. Along with the Early Access announcement, Design Imps also sent words that The Endless Wyrd “recently won the first qualification round of the NGDC Season V”, which qualifies the game to be entered into the Nordic Game Discovery Contest scheduled for this summer in Sweden....

The announcement of a new Spider-Man game starring arguably the best spider person of all, Miles Morales, was met with plenty of fanfare when it premiered during Sony’s Playstation 5 livestream. Since then, there’s been a smattering of news revolving around this new web-slinging adventure (including conflicting reports on whether or not it’s a full-fledged game.) Game publishers just can’t seem to catch a break this year, it seems at least once a month someone needs to get hacked - with the latest victim being Japanese publisher Square Enix. The company has announced that their Square Enix Members service has been taken down due an intrusion in one of their servers. The service was taken down 10pm (PST) on December 12th, 2011, and at this point still remains inaccessible....

All of the contents for the Collector’s Edition of the next entry in Capcom’s long-running survival-horror franchise, Resident Evil 7, get revealed to the public. Not too long ago, video game developer Capcom revealed its optimistic projections for the launch sales of its forthcoming title Resident Evil 7, predicting that the game will sell 4 million copies upon release. Although the company didn’t specify which versions of the survival-horror game would be the most prevalent when it comes to moving units – be it the standard base edition, digital deluxe iteration, or any other – it’s safe to presume that the newly revealed GameStop-exclusive Collector’s Edition for Resident Evil 7 won’t be the title’s biggest-selling version due to its rather hefty cost....
