One month after the release of the PS5, PlayStation has revealed it has no plans to continue manufacturing the PS4 Pro. The waters that are the transition from one generation of consoles to another are tricky ones to navigate. In an ideal world, companies like PlayStation and Xbox would release a new console and everyone would immediately jump into the next generation. It isn’t that simple though, especially when there aren’t nearly enough of those consoles to go around....

Back in 2013, Daybreak Game Company (then known as Sony Online Entertainment) was the victim of a DDoS attack perpetrated by the hacking group known as DerpTrolling. DerpTrolling, operated by Austin Thompson of Utah, also attacked League of Legends, Dota 2, and Blizzard’s Battle.net service with similar attacks. Now, after pleading guilty back in November of 2018, Thomspon has been sentenced to 27 months in prison and has been ordered to pay $95,000 to Daybreak Game Company....

PlayStation fans around the globe are eagerly counting down the days to the PS5’s grand launch on November 12. Even though the console’s exclusive launch lineup is a little small, players have become quite excited for the games that will be available such as Demon’s Souls and Spider-Man: Miles Morales nonetheless. Spider-Man has always benefited from one of the best rogues’ galleries in comics, but the recently released Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales features a villain whom some franchise fans may not immediately recognize: a businessman named Simon Krieger. While it probably won’t come as much as a surprise that Miles Morales focuses on a new villain given that it’s a spin-off of the Marvel’s Spider-Man story, it turns out that Krieger isn’t actually an entirely new face in the Marvel universe....

Roblox is now worth $29.5 billion, a massive leap from being valued at $4 billion a little under a year ago. According to a report from Reuters, the company has indicated an intent to go public through a direct listing as opposed to the initial public offering (IPO) that was planned from the onset, having raised new funding in a deal that has seen its value skyrocket. The U.S gaming platform has disclosed having raised around $520 million in a new Series H fundraising drive championed by Altimeter Capital and Dragoneer Investment Group....

Rogue Legacy 2, a sequel to the hit 2013 indie rogue-like platformer, has officially been announced after developer Cellar Door Games released a teaser image yesterday. The game was revealed to be “in development” on Twitter with some work in progress screenshots and a piece of haunting music. While Cellar Door Games has not revealed much about the upcoming game in today’s series of tweets, the developers say they will be releasing “a lot more info in the coming days....

Today, Sega made its first announcement of 2021, which is that new Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 content is being added today and includes company mascot Sonic the Hedgehog as a new playable character. While by no means a bad announcement, it’s ultimately not as major as what else the company likely has in store for its fans this year. After all, two of Sega’s most profitable and notable properties are celebrating anniversaries this year....

An official Phantasy Star online shop is now live as Sega kicks off the New Year with tons of merchandise available for pre-order. You can visit the ARKS store now, but details on items and other text in the store are currently only available officially in Japanese. A report from Famitsu detailed several of the new items, all of which are painfully adorable and feature some of Phantasy Star’s iconic mascots....

It looks like Sega is about to make some big announcements in a new live stream, which should be exciting news for fans of the company famous for Sonic, Yakuza, and Dynamite Headdy. Devolver Digital has announced that Shadow Warrior 3 will be heading to PS4 and Xbox One alongside the previously announced PC version sometime later this year. Revealed during IGN’s exclusive preview of the “Doomsday Device” level, it will be interesting to see if next-gen versions get released or if there will be any enhancements for players lucky enough to get their hands on a PS5 or Series X.
