Cloud Imperium Games has announced that Squadron 42, the single player aspect of of the space simulation game, Star Citizen, has been delayed once again with no new release date in sight. While fans have been quite vocal regarding the developer’s poor communication during development of Star Citizen, Cloud Imperium Founder Chris Roberts announced on the game’s official forums that Squadron 42 would miss the expected release date. Roberts also added that the game will simply release when it’s done....

The remake of Resident Evil 2 is right around the corner, and many likely consider it to be one of the most anticipated titles of 2019. This week the ESRB gave its official rating for the game and to no one’s surprise, Resident Evil 2 is once again rated “M” for “Mature.” The rating description points out strong language, intense violence, and blood and gore courtesy of some of the game’s creepiest monsters, but it also lists the inclusion of “in-game purchases....

The 2020 holiday season has arrived and with it Epic Games’ popular Holiday Sale for the Epic Games Store. Even more popular than discounted games, though, are free games. As with last year, the Epic Games Store is bringing back its free game offerings. This year’s plan is 15 Days of Free Games, with the first two days already revealed. Also much like last year, it appears that the remaining free games left to be revealed have been leaked ahead of schedule....

One of the most highly-rated games of the PS2 era seems as though it’s making its way to modern consoles. Recent rumors suggest that Okami, the gorgeous Zelda-inspired game from Capcom and the now-defunct Clover Studio, will be available on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this December. These rumors stem from two independent sources that spoke with Kotaku UK. Apparently, Capcom is planning on bringing both a boxed and digital version of Okami to PS4 and Xbox One in December, and it will be a port of the HD version of the game....

After Konami created a brilliant and viral promotional campaign through their P.T. demo for Silent Hills, it was devastating for intrigued fans to learn that the game had been scrapped. The fact that Konami and Hideo Kojima remained as silent as the game’s title only worsened gamers’ frustration, as it felt that the game had been needlessly executed due to some kind of spat between the publisher and designer....

The Japanese release of Rune Factory 5 is just around the corner. Developer Marvelous Inc. has been steadily putting out information about the game. This time, we got to see a gameplay trailer that was showcased during the livestream titled ‘To a New Adventure! Seed Member Recruitment Special.’ While the game seems to be similar to previous entries, there have been some new features that the developer has incorporated into Rune Factory 5....

RuneScape is celebrating Valentine’s Day with a new, permanent quest called Heartstealer. To get started, rush over to the warehouse in Edgeville and speak to Caelyn, who’s forgotten to buy Annette an anniversary gift and needs your help getting out of a bind. Rewards for completing the quest include the Heartstealer title and a “set of stylish new duds that are perfect for your phantom thief shenanigans.” There are no prerequisites for the mission, but if you have at least level 20 Thieving you’ll also be rewarded with a Thieving XP lamp....

The Sony PlayStation 5 event was full of big video game reveals. It definitely felt like the plans Sony had for what would have been E3 in a different timeline. The presentation was packed to the brim with intriguing indies, beloved franchises, and what look to be new tentpole releases. In 2008, Media Molecule and Sony launched the ambitious platforming game LittleBigPlanet, which gave players extensive tools that they could use to create their very own gaming experiences. LittleBigPlanet was a huge success, selling millions of copies and earning near-universal acclaim at the time of its release. LittleBigPlanet’s success spawned a brand new tentpole franchise for Sony, with numerous LBP sequels and spin-offs. PS5 launch title Sackboy: A Big Adventure is the latest LittleBigPlanet spin-off game, and it also happens to be one of the better ones....

Sailor Moon started as a monthly manga series in Japan and quickly blossomed into a show known all around the world. Sailor Moon is based on Usagi Tsukino, a schoolgirl who inherits magical powers to become a soldier against evil. The story is broken up into five arcs in which Sailor Moon and her group of Sailor soldiers face a variety of evil threats. Now, fans are being treated to free episodes of the classic Sailor Moon coming to YouTube, curtesy of the anime streaming company, Crunchyroll....

It’s no surprise that more people are buying game consoles during the COVID-19 pandemic, but data from e-commerce platform MDG shows just how much people are going out to buy gaming gear during their forced time at home. According to the data, there has been an increase of 263% in people buying gaming bundles this April, including a 262% increase in those buying HDTV bundles that include a gaming console....

There are multitudes of mobile anime games littering Google Play currently, many of them emulating or building off of existing anime series. 7 Deadly Sins: Grand Cross is one such title that just recently saw it’s global launch after great success in Japan. It’s starting to look like many Google Stadia employees are abandoning that sinking ship. The Stadia platform has been looking pretty rocky as of late. Aside from over-promising and under-delivering features, they’ve also ceased development on their own games, and their product head John Justice - an amazing name by the way - left Google entirely after Stadia’s underwhelming launch. Well, it appears that Justice isn’t the only one who’s fled the company....

The latest rogue-lite to hit Steam–Skul: The Hero Slayer–has sold over 100,000 copies in just four days. That’s a massive number for an indie project, and the number is sure to rise as positive word of mouth is spreading. While these figures would be an absolute disaster for a triple-A company like EA or Activision, selling over 100,000 copies for a small developer is a massive deal. What could be helping drive the sales is the 20% launch discount (until February 3) and the huge 93% positive rating on Steam....

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has a fair amount of supernatural creatures that inhabit its world. Throughout the game and its DLCs, the player will be able to enter certain parts of Oblivion, the realm of the Daedra. There are references to the Daedra throughout the lands of Skyrim, with cults worshipping them to giant statues made in honor of Daedric Princes. The Daedra are mysterious, but through exploring Skyrim and talking to the characters that inhabit it, it is possible to learn a little more about the creatures....
