The Oculus Rift HD — a virtual reality 3D headset developed specifically for gaming — was easily one of our favorite things at E3 2013. It showed what the future could (will?) look like as games become more immersive, and was nothing short of impressive. However, although the Oculus Rift is currently the main brand among VR headsets, we don’t expect it to be the only name. In fact, a new rumor suggests Sony is working on their own virtual reality headset, and that they plan on unveiling it at this year’s Tokyo Games Show....

I wasn’t quite old enough to deal with its themes, and I wouldn’t overcome the tale of horror lurking in the mind of James Sunderland until a few years later. Silent Hill 2’s unreliable narrator, psychological torment, and chilling atmosphere was the first game to present a story to me where I was forced to fill in my own blanks of understanding, and that’s why nearly 20 years later, I’m still wrapped in Silent Hill’s fog....

Harrowing news has broken today: Film, television, and video game composer Daniel Licht has passed away. Known for his work scoring multiple entries in the Dishonored and Silent Hill franchises, Licht died in the late hours of Wednesday, August 2 following a battle with cancer. He was 60. Licht’s passing was announced on Twitter by Austin Winroy, the composer of Flow, Journey, and ABZU, whose gameplay trailer stunned at last year’s E3....
