San Diego Comic-Con International runs from Thursday, July 18th through to Sunday, July 21st at the San Diego Convention Center. The schedules are now being released, so attendees can start planning out which panels they want to try and see. Shenmue fans have been waiting almost two decades to get their hands on Shenmue 3, but we’re getting closer to that dream becoming a reality. In fact, development has progressed far enough for the developers to announce the minimum requirements for the PC version of Shenmue 3, and apparently the game is going to require a whopping 100GB of free space to install. At the time of this writing, it’s unclear why Shenmue 3 demands 100GB of free space for the PC version of the game....

Sci-Fi shooter Spacelords is another game that’s in line to receive the next-gen treatment. Developer MercurySteam announced that the free-to-play title would be added to the PS5 and Xbox Series X catalogue, and run at 4K resolution at 60 frames per second. Spacelords was previously known as Raiders of the Broken Planet before its title change in 2018. The game’s performance boost will arrive by way of a free update this week, which will launch before the next-gen consoles are released....

Extreme avian sports game SkateBIRD has been delayed to next year, developer Glass Bottom Games has announced. Glass Bottom Games officially confirmed SkateBIRD for Nintendo Switch at the Indie World Showcase in December 2019, though the game will also be headed to PC. In a post on the game’s Kickstarter page, Glass Bottom Games confirmed that SkateBIRD will now be released in 2021, which is a delay from its original late 2020 release date....

Pre-orders of the PlayStation 5 were supposed to begin last Thursday, but instead went up on Wednesday due to retailers jumping the gun. While this was not necessarily Sony’s fault, the company has officially apologized for the mishap on the official PlayStation Twitter account and promised fans that there will be more chances later this year to secure a PlayStation 5. Sony files a trademark for a game with online components called ‘Days Gone’, with many fans believing that it’s Sony Bend’s ambitious, unannounced PS4 title. Just one week ago, Sony’s Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida boasted that the PlayStation 4 would have an “unprecedented rush” of games in 2016. Not only would highly anticipated blockbusters like Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and The Last Guardian finally be making it into the hands of waiting PS4 players after multiple delays, but there are also new IPs such as Horizon Zero Dawn and Detroit: Become Human....

In a rare act of repealing regret, Sony is refunding people who recently purchased Maneater on the PlayStation Store, as it’s coming to PlayStation Plus in January. The majority of open-world games cast the player as a grizzled soldier or a mighty warrior in a fantasy realm. Maneater bucks the trend by being an open-world game about a shark, who swims around and violently murders everything in its path. The launch version of Maneater was plagued by bugs, but reviewers generally loved its premise and the feeling of causing thoughtless carnage as a huge shark....

Fans of “Crank That” rapper Soulja Boy know that the artist is a keen gamer. Most recently, Soulja Boy revealed that developer Epic Games had plans to add the “Crank That” dance to Fortnite. However, few expected his latest video game-related announcement. In a tweet posted earlier today, Soulja Boy informed his fans that the “SouljaGame Handheld” had gone on sale on his tech merchandise website, souljawatch.com. The device features a 3-inch screen, more than 3,000 games pre-loaded, and it includes “support connerting [sic] to TV....

The Insomniac Games-developed Spider-Man PS4 exclusive is certainly shaping up to be one of the go-to games for 2018, and so far fans have been extremely optimistic about the game and its physics and momentum-based webslinging.
