League of Legends broadcasts will soon feature in-game advertising. Riot Games has announced that Summoner’s Rift will get area banners with sponsors’ branding on them. League of Legends is one of the biggest esports in the world and has been raking in billions for Riot Games over the years. The company has now found a new way to capitalize on that attemtion. All official LoL broadcasts will feature the Arena Banners, starting with the Summer Split in June....

‘The continuing story of survival horror’ won’t be continuing for much longer, at least not on television, as AMC’s The Walking Dead gears up for its 11th and final season. Still, zombie fans aren’t going to be starved for content by any means, as the franchise already has multiple spinoff’s ongoing, and several more in production, some of which will tie directly into the AMC show. While fans are likely familiar with Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: The World Beyond, there are also a few other series in production, such as an anthology series, as well as a show featuring fan favorite characters Carol and Daryl....

Therefore he is back out of retirement to get himself a new one, and he has brought the big guns....

Rocket League has been one of the major success stories of indie gaming since it launched five years ago in 2015. According to a tweet by developer Psyonix co-head, that success has continued now that Rocket League has gone free to play. Once a game goes free to play, the idea of tracking sales numbers goes out the window. But of course, the developer usually finds ways to continue to make a profit through in-game transactions, battle passes, etc....

Protagonists in Rockstar Games’ titles can be a mixed bag, but oftentimes that’s on purpose. Grand Theft Auto 5 is a key example of this: Trevor, Michael, and Franklin all have some endearing qualities, but never any excessive character depth that interrupts the game’s encouraging of reckless destruction. In the end, the set-pieces and chaotic gameplay are usually the spotlight of a Grand Theft Auto game. Compelling character arcs have usually been reserved for narrative-focused experiences like Red Dead or Max Payne....

Rockstar Games was never a company to shy away from controversy. They’ve escalated the definition of what people call “Shocking”. When GTA 3 came out, people were offended that you could simply kill innocent pedestrians and pick up hookers. With Vice City, you could do this in more gruesome ways (the killing, not the hookers!). In San Andreas, they had the infamous Hot Coffee Mod incident (a hidden sex-based minigame). Does Rockstar care?...

There is an exciting rumor gaining traction that Ubisoft will unveil a “Community Tool” that would allow for user-made content for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. If true, the announcement would be revealed at E3. Without a doubt, the release of such a tool would be nothing but beneficial for everyone involved, players and company alike. Currently there is already a substantial amount of content in the game and its DLC, with over 100 hours of playtime, and the potential for fan-made content could bolster that amount indefinitely....

Much still hasn’t been revealed about The Coalition’s Gears of War 5 outside of leaks revealing Gears of War 5’s release date and cover art. However, while the game may be mostly shrouded in mystery, a new leak has emerged providing multiple details, including that the game is capable of running in 4K Ultra HD resolution and features a framerate performance of 60 frames per second in all modes. The leaked product information coming from Resetera user Klobrille confirms some things fans are already aware of....

One of the biggest games released this year was Gears of War 3, and while the gaming community awaited its arrival with the utmost anticipation, just as many fans felt a little upset that the trilogy was coming to an end. Fans of Souls-like titles will be pleased with the announcement of Salt and Sacrifice, a semi-sequel to Ska Studios’ 2016 action game Salt and Sanctuary. This latest title will not only include more of the pulse-pounding action you’ve come to expect from a Dark Souls-inspired title, but it will also have support for local and online co-op. Now, you won’t need to die 9,000 times by yourself. Salt and Sacrifice will take players to a new region and a different era from the first game....

The Simu Liu led introduction to Marvel’s Shang-Chi, the Master of Kung Fu, was showcased in the studio’s recent trailer for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. While most were mesmerized by the atmospheric set pieces and hypnotic combat, eagle-eyed viewers were busy hunting Easter eggs. Destin Daniel Cretton has taken a leap into the action genre with Shang-Chi, casting the Taken (TV series) actor in the titular role alongside Awkwafina - who promises to deliver most of the feature’s comedy....
