I walked away from Resident Evil Village with mixed feelings about the whole thing, but the one aspect of the long-awaited sequel I had no mixed feelings about was leading man Ethan Winters and his status as the absolute worst. While there have been other unlikable Resident Evil protagonists, Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village‘s Ethan Winters is on another level. Unlike other RE heroes that were hindered by a combination of bad voice acting, bad writing, and questionable lore, Ethan Winters’ brings all of those unfortunate elements to the table and adds a couple of “qualities” that puts him cleanly in contention for the “honor” of being not just the worst protagonist in RE history but in all major video games....

Rick and Morty Season 3 Episode 4 Rick and Morty Season 3, wisely and perhaps unavoidably, has been leaning hard into the conceit that Rick can—but doesn’t have to—do anything. Considering this was quickly established in the show’s first season, it’s impressive they’ve continued to wring adventures out of a series with an unstoppable nihilist as a protagonist. A show with less confident writing would be at a loss for conflict, dead in the water, and, admittedly, even Rick and Morty flailed a little in season two....

VALORANT, the upcoming 5v5 character-based tactical shooter from Riot Games, will reportedly hit the market with ten playable characters, half of which will be available to everyone, while the other half will be purchasable with either in-game currency or real money, according to an IGN interview. Until now, VALORANT has been described as a free-to-play game, and this remains true. It appears that like other games that carry the same label, the ability to purchase additional characters with real money will be available for those who want to access a new character immediately, while those who are content to wait can do so and gradually accumulate in-game currency....

Not too long ago, Psyonix announced a partnership between Universal Pictures and Rocket League to add The Fate of the Furious DLC the vehicular soccer title, and now the video game developer is revealing that it’s teaming up with yet another entertainment conglomerate by revealing a partnership between it and the WWE. As it stands at the moment, it appears as if the sports car game is going to be sponsoring the company’s next pay-per-view event known as Backlash on May 21, 2017 on the WWE Network, but according to Psyonix, the collaboration between the firms is just an initial venture with even more to come....

While the gaming community ponders as to when Rockstar Games will release Grand Theft Auto V, we at least can look forward to Max Payne 3 coming this year, albeit at a slightly later date than expected. Only a day after reporting about Remedy Entertainment praising Rockstar for their work on Max Payne 3, the game is getting pushed back, taking a page out of the Ubisoft book for their similar delay of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier....

Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take-Two (Rockstar Games’ parent company) reveals that Take-Two will be at E3 2016 in a ‘big way’, prompting speculation about Red Dead Redemption 2. Although the event is still several months away, video game publishers and developers are already unveiling their plans for the annual industry bash, E3 2016. In the last few weeks, EA has announced its own E3 2016 plans, saying that it will switch things up a bit by hosting ‘EA Play’ sessions to give gamers hands-on time with its titles....

GTA Online continues to remain relevant and, if its latest Cayo Perico Heist DLC is anything to go by, it keep adding content for all kinds of players. Rockstar confirmed that more solo content is on the way. Rockstar’s Director of Design Production Tarek Hamad and Design Director Scott Butchar confirmed as much during a recent interview with GQ.
