I reviewed Umbrella Corps, so I know perfectly well how deep the barrel of so-so Resident Evil multiplayer outings can go. If you’re willing to search far enough, you’ll find some of the most laughably awful squad-based shooters in recent memory, with Capcom shoehorning its beloved franchise into online blueprints it never belonged in. Despite the majority of fans decrying Project Resistance, Operation Raccoon City, and so many others as missing the mark, the publisher seems determined to keep jumping into the pool of multiplayer....

Update 1.3.6 is coming to Returnal later today and aims to fix the save corruption bugs, and put into effect the changes that were supposed to come with an earlier update. Housemarque released a patch for Returnal earlier in the week that was intended to make several changes to the game, but it ended up corrupting players save games. Because of the issues, they had to release another update reverting the game back to its original state so that fewer players were being affected by the issue....

Yesterday, disturbing news broke surrounding League of Legends’ controversial new character, Seraphine. A woman named Stephanie, who previously dated a Riot Games employee, presented compelling evidence that Seraphine was modeled after her. While Riot Games denied the claims, it’s hard to deny the similarities between Stephanie and the character - especially considering this is the third time Riot has been accused of this. Of course, this is far from the only problem with Seraphine....

It seems like the House of Sonic will be searching for a new leader in short order. This morning, Sega Sammy Holdings Inc. released a resignation letter announcing the abrupt departure of Kenji Matsubara, the company’s President and Chief Publishing Officer. Matsubara’s time as Sega’s president was relatively brief, full of ups and downs in a period that was dense with corporate restructuring and reorganization. Sega rolled out an ambitious plan to revitalize major IPs in the years leading up to 2020, and saw favorable profits thanks to the international success of titles like Yakuza 6 and Persona 5....

After a literal decade of waiting, fans rejoice as EA Games has finally announced the return of one of their most cherished video game franchises with Skate 4. Fans of the Skate series have been asking for this game ever since the release of the widely popular Skate 3. After begging EA year after year to make Skate 4, it seems that EA is finally ready to deliver on the ravenous requests of the fans....

Skull and Bones was revealed back at E3 2017 as a game inspired by Assassin’s Creed Black Flag’s naval combat. After seeing Immortals Fenyx Rising derived from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, this inspiration could make for a promising pirate game. However, some fans may be concerned and rightfully so: the game’s development history is full of changes, including a “new vision” for the game. Last summer, it was also reported that Skull and Bones was adding live-service elements to the game....

The province of Skyrim is a massive open world to discover, with nine holds, large and unique cities with their own themes, as well as various caves, forts, dungeons and old Nordic ruins. However, one location type of the world that tends to go unnoticed are the towns of Skyrim, the small settlements of farmers and peasants. Towns are probably the least well-developed aspect of the game, since they don’t really have a greater purpose....

It’s been a bad couple of months to be a smuggler of counterfeit electronics at the United States border. U.S. Customs and Border Protection confirms that earlier in April, it seized just over $200,000 worth of counterfeit video game monitors from smugglers at the US/Canada border. This is one of several raids held by authorities at the border in as many months. U.S Customs and Border Protection says that it discovered a haul of 450 counterfeit video game monitors during a targeted raid it held on April 16 at the Ranier entry (near International Falls)....

Ah, yeah. This is happenin’ (for real this time)! Netflix has officially revealed the title of Sonic the Hedgehog’s new Netflix 3D animated series, Sonic Prime, which is slated to premiere in 2022. Netflix tweeted a picture of the logo on Monday, which has cracks running through Sonic’s name and a prismatic design on the word “Prime”, along with the announcement that Sonic Prime will be produced by Sega, WildBrain, and Man of Action Entertainment....

The non-stop DJ mix, titled Sonic the Hedgehog DJ Style Party, will be based on SONIC DJ, a project that began back in 2018 with Sonic the Hedgehog sound director Tomoya Ohtani’s DJ session at SEGA FES, and will feature tunes from “ages, genres, instrumental, vocal, popular, and minor” pieces from the Sonic series, according to an English translation of its listing (via Sonic Stadium)....

Sony announces the return of the Vote to Play program for PlayStation Plus on PS4, giving users the choice between Broforce, Action Henk!, and Assault Android Cactus. While February 2016’s free PlayStation Plus games are just now becoming available, Sony is already looking ahead to the popular program’s March lineup. PlayStation Plus subscribers will even have a say in determining one of the games that will be made available for a free download next month, with the chance to choose between three different indie titles....

First it was Fortnite, and then K-pop sensation BTS came out with their own game where fans can live out their fantasies of dressing every member in whatever trendy clothes they desire like virtual dolls. Which isn’t creepy at all. And now they’re doing Fall Guys. They’re not actually IN Fall Guys, although we’re certain that the idea of a BTS costume must now be percolating somewhere within the great minds at Mediatonic....

Spider-Man: Miles Morales came as a surprise during the PlayStation 5 reveal event. While the new game had been heavily rumored, the quick turnaround time between Spider-Man PS4 and Miles Morales was something of a curveball. There hadn’t been much news about the game until today, during the most recent PlayStation 5 event, where Sony showed its hand for this holiday season. One of the relatively unexpected appearances was a new gameplay demo for Spider-Man Miles Morales, showing off some of the flashy set pieces fans can expect from the game....

Look out! PlayStation 5’s upcoming Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be able to run at 4K/60FPS thanks to a performance mode option. Soon, players can do whatever a Spider-Man can – and look good doing it. Insomniac Games confirmed the news through Twitter Monday morning. It claims that this game will allow you to “swing through the city like never before on PS5.” The prior game that released in 2018 had a few graphical options available....
