When searching for powerful and unique weapons in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, the player shouldn’t ignore the countless Daedric quests scattered all over the province. From doing the bidding of evil Daedric Princes to getting a quick revenge, each Prince has their own unique stories, personalities and preferences. Such is also the case with Meridia. Her quest involves finding her beacon, an important quest item that’s required to be returned to her temple nearby Solitude....

When it comes to console gaming and most especially, within the RPG genre, long-time gamers often dread hearing the words “more accessible” and “wider audience.” What that typically means, is that a publisher comes down on a developer to force the oversimplification of certain games, games whose predecessors offered more depth. We saw this with BioWare recently on their two big franchises: Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age 2. Needless to say, with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim introducing such a large array of changes to the HUD, leveling mechanic and other gameplay features - and knowing Oblivion removed some cool stuff from Morrowind before it - some long time Elder Scrolls fans are a tad concerned....

People have been using Animal Crossing: New Horizons to replicate a whole slew of real-life functions, from work meetings to national public service announcements, but this might be the first time someone’s introduced gambling to their picturesque island life. Players have figured out a way to create fully-functioning casinos in New Horizons, and it’s surprisingly simple. One person serves as the dealer—usually the island host—and sets up two roulette wheel furniture pieces, as well as floor designs with numbers on them for players to bet on....

We’re a few days out from Sony’s PlayStation 5 reveal stream and we finally understand how backward compatibility support is going to work. As a quick recap, lead console architect Mark Cerny held a very tech-heavy stream that went over the inner workings of Sony’s next-generation device. At one point, he touched on what was being done for backward compatibility and his wording made it seem like the PS5 would only support “100 of the most popular PS4” games at launch....

The highest available difficulty mode at the start of the Resident Evil 3 remake is “Hardcore,” but that is just the tip of the iceberg. After besting “Hardcore,” “Nightmare” mode is unlocked, which rearranges the item layout in addition to making enemies tougher. Finally, “Inferno” is available only to souls dedicated enough to beating “Nightmare,” and ramps up the difficulty even more with incredibly aggressive enemies. The toughest mode can seem impossible at first, but becomes infinitely more manageable by following the ten steps outlined below....

Capcom releases another gameplay video for Resident Evil 7, this time showing off new areas of the Baker family plantation, like a rec room and a basement slaughterhouse. To build anticipation for next month’s launch of Resident Evil VII, the first numbered entry in the series in five years, Capcom has released three new gameplay videos showing off various aspects of its gameplay. The first video teased the garage boss fight with Jack Baker, but the second focuses more on the game’s exploration elements, giving players a look at different areas around the Baker family plantation, including a disturbing slaughterhouse in the basement....

2021 marks the 25th anniversary of Capcom’s Resident Evil, which innovated the survival-horror genre and has stood the test of time as one of the most successful video game franchises ever. Capcom has yet to announce exactly what it has planned for Resident Evil for its 25th anniversary, but all will be revealed at the upcoming Resident Evil franchise showcase scheduled to take place on Thursday, January 21 at 2pm PT....

Villagers remain part of the core experience in Animal Crossing installments, especially in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. In this Nintendo Switch title, players can find up to 391 different villagers (as of writing), all of which they can convince to live on their island. Moreover, these villagers all have different personalities, making each island composition unique. Thankfully, it seems the game has a type of villager for almost any type of player....

It’s still a little surreal to know that Robocop is coming to Mortal Kombat 11. When NetherRealm Studios revealed that 2019’s best selling fighting game would be getting a paid expansion, another guest character was the farthest thing from my mind. I also just plain didn’t see officer Murphy entering the fray, mainly because it seemed too good to be true. Whatever strings publisher WB Games had to pull, it’s definitely been worth it....

Way back when, in the months leading up to the Nintendo Switch’s launch, Gearbox Software stated that Borderlands 3 was not in development for the Switch. That seems to be the case still, even as the rest of the series’ main titles have made their way to the portable console, but the latest from the rumor mill suggests that that might be changing. An interesting job listing was recently posted by developer Fractured Byte, one of the studios involved with the Switch port of the Borderlands Legendary Collection....

E3 2019 is right around the corner, and as usual, supposed leaks have started popping up about what the show will have in store for fans. While it’s hard to tell which leaks should be believed and which are just being made up for the sake of stirring the pot, a new leak from a supposed industry insider claims to reveal Microsoft’s entire E3 2019 press conference plans. The leaker, Braldryr from NeoGAF, has apparently revealed all of the games and announcements that will take place at Microsoft’s E3 2019 press conference....

Exciting news, as a now-deleted post from Reddit shows a possible leak of Fable IV, including details of a reboot with an in-depth character creator, an open-world, multiplayer, and the building of towns that directly affect the main story. Microsoft has not confirmed any of the details below. If the leaks are true, the story begins by describing how Albion and Aurora are both gone, and now considered “lands reduced to fables....

Rune Factory 5 is already out in Japan, but today during the Future Game Show, publisher Xseed Games revealed the next farming and action RPG hybrid comes to the west early next year. You’ll have to hang tight for a little while longer if you’re itching to tend crops and romance cuties. Rune Factory 5’s updates have been slim for those of us outside of Japan, but at least now we have an idea of when you can jump into the next one....

Sea of Thieves players have enjoyed a reliable roll-out of fresh content for their pirate adventure game, but the latest patch has hit stormy weather.
