Yesterday, it was confirmed that Marvel’s Avengers, a forthcoming title being developed by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal, will indeed be shown during the Square Enix E3 2019 presentation. After a relatively lukewarm (albeit still positive) response to Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, industry insiders were beginning to wonder whether or not Ubisoft’s choice to annualize the Assassin’s Creed franchise was starting to negatively impact player interest. The publisher even started tempering expectations for their next installment, Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, which some analysts expected to be a tipping point - given that longtime fans might have reached franchise fatigue. Yet, reviews for the game were mostly positive (read our own Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag review), thanks to a likable protagonist, extremely engaging ship combat, and much-needed gameplay refinements, not to mention a clever meta-narrative about game development, causing gamers who might initially have passed-up the sequel to give it another look....

Over the past few months, gamers have heard quite a few rumors regarding the next Forza game without much in the way of official confirmations. We know that there is another next-gen Forza game in development, but whether or not it’s a fully-fledged Forza 6 or another Forza Horizon is unclear. The tier-two competitive Overwatch scene just got a much needed boost as Blizzard announced SBS-AfreekaTV, a Korean TV Channel and company, will broadcast a handful of their esports including producing Overwatch Contenders Korea, the premiere region of Overwatch Contenders. United States Senator Thom Tillis has introduced a piece of legislation that could turn Twitch and YouTube streamers into felons. The North Carolina-based Republican is attempting to attach a measure onto a federal omnibus bill that makes unauthorized streaming of content, such as music clips, something that could lead to jailing Twitch users. The full text of Tillis’ amendment isn’t known yet, but it is expected to be similar to the text in the SOPA/PIPA bills filed in 2012 that led to unprecedented internet protests....

Introduced into Skyrim with the Dawnguard DLC, Lost to the Ages is an extensive sidequest that sees the player delve into multiple Dwemer ruins to uncover the mysteries of Aetherium, as well as uncover the long-lost Aetherium Forge. Although the quest can be quite long, it is well worth the effort, especially if the player is interested in Dwemer artifacts and history. As of late, the Executive Producer of Dragon Age and Anthem, Mark Darrah, has been diligently engaging with BioWare’s fan base on social media to get the word out about all of the features that are going to be included in the video game developer’s forthcoming action-RPG, recently confirming it will have a level cap. Nintendo’s Toad may be a fun guy, but one thing’s for sure: the little critter certainly isn’t much of a singer. This Toad choir will undoubtedly be the worst thing your ears have been subjected to in 2021 so far. Now, 2020 has been an extraordinary year for gaming. Nintendo has fared very well, all told, with the company announcing an increase in profits of over 500% during the summer. This was largely thanks to Switch sales and the mighty Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which (among other titles) served as a tremendous and vital dose of escapism for many in 2020....

Fans of the hugely popular Fallout 2 game now have something to play while they wait for Fallout 5 to arrive after someone set about turning it into an old-style FPS that’s now available for free. The free beta is courtesy of developer Jonasz Osmenda who is, obviously enough, a fan of the Bethesda Fallout series of games. Fallout 2 is the game they chose to revisit, giving it a first-person look but ultimately keeping all of the charm that made the original such a fun game....

As of right now, the Xbox Series X appears to be slightly ahead of the PS5 months before their respective releases during the holiday season. And frankly, the latter console could be in more serious trouble if Sony doesn’t stabilize all that has been displayed as of late. At E3 2010, one of the more interesting titles we were shown was Activision’s True Crime: Hong Kong. While the first two installments of the True Crime series were fairly underwhelming, United Front Games reboot of the franchise looked to elevate the sandbox genre by mixing a Hollywood-style script with the fun of over the top Kung-Fu action. As development continued, however, Activision lost faith that the title would be able to compete in the marketplace and cancelled its release in February 2011....
