Capcom announces that the development team behind Resident Evil will begin focusing on creating virtual reality projects alongside traditional console games. Capcom has confirmed that their Development Division 1 team, the team responsible for the Resident Evil games, is currently working with virtual reality technology, with the goal of creating games for the tech. While Resident Evil wasn’t specifically named, Capcom’s explanation of one of their VR projects strongly hints that a VR horror game is in development by the Development Division 1 team....

According to a new Xbox Series X|S report, Microsoft has secured another exclusive title for the next-gen consoles. Microsoft is reportedly working with FromSoftware, the developer of Dark Souls, Sekiro, and Bloodborne, among others, on a sci-fi RPG. The report comes from Miles Dompier of Windows Central who says he’s heard rumors of a collaboration between FromSoftware and Microsoft. The gaming industry’s widespread reckoning with sexual abuse continues. On July 3, Skullgirls developer Lab Zero Games planned a statement addressing the allegations of inappropriate behavior by lead designer Mike Zaimont. As of this writing, the statement has yet to be issued. According to several employees, an internal investigation revealed a larger pattern of misconduct from Zaimont, which led to the resignation of at least three employees. In June, Zaimont was criticized after he referred to police brutality victims Eric Garner and George Floyd’s last words, “I can’t breathe” when he made a joke on a live stream....
