A mall in Brazil has opened up a new playground with a distinct Sonic theme that puts young fans of Sega’s character right into the Green Hill Zone from the classic games. The entire playground appears to be a combination of classic and modern Sonic content, which might help the appeal that the mall is looking for, as the play space is for both children and adults. The new play area recently opened in Shopping Vila Velha, a shopping mall in Brazil, which has used its space for similar attractions before, though this is the first specific to the Sonic brand....

That’s not exactly how our conversation went, but it’s close enough. Coming into this article, I was fairly sure in the superiority of Sony’s E3 conference over Microsoft’s. But if you take a close look at both shows, it’s pretty obvious that Microsoft trounced Sony at this year’s E3. Sony had plenty of games that showed promise, but their show had a lot of blind spots. Sure all of Sony’s games looked fun, but (for example) they had next to nothing slated for 2017....

Resident Evil Village features some of the best locations and explorable environments in the series’ history. Easily one of the most iconic is Castle Dimitrescu, the home to Lady Dimitrescu and her daughters of the night. This downright ominous and equally brilliant fortress provides for both a literal background to the player’s exploration but also as a story-centered setpiece. While Castle Dimitescu has been featured a lot in the marketing lead-up to the game’s release, many players might have missed some of the more subtle, spooky details while exploring....

Ahead of its official E3 press conference, Square Enix has added Outriders to the growing list of games confirmed for E3 2019. Very little is currently known about the game, other than it being a new Sci-fi title published by Square, but the teasers for the new game and a few other details from the official Twitter account give players a better idea about what’s going on. First off, it’s worth mentioning that the Outriders Twitter account was made in June 2017, but it avoided posting anything until recently, thereby suggesting the game is at least partway through its development cycle....

Unlike Resident Evil 2 Remake which has a decent amount of costumes for Claire and Leon, Resident Evil 3 Remake doesn’t have as much, thus leaving players wishing for more in order to increase their replayability and customization. Well, it seems that Capcom has heard the requests for more costumes, and will be releasing the classic costumes for both Carlos and Jill in the future. Aside from providing a nostalgic aspect (since the classic costumes are replicas from the original game), they also give players the option to replay Resident Evil 3 Remake as a different version of the characters....

Resident Evil 8 is the latest entry in the long-running survival horror series from Capcom. The Japanese developer/publisher held a livestreamed presentation today for Resident Evil 8 to unveil the first gameplay footage and more details on what fans can expect from the frightening sequel to Resident Evil 7. During the showcase, it was revealed that anyone who purchases Resident Evil 8 when it launches in May will have access to a brand-new, standalone multiplayer mode that’s free to play....

While League of Legends remains a very popular online game, its development studio, Riot Games, continues to find itself at the center of controversy. Last week, Hi-Rez Studios and developer First Watch Games delayed a major update for the multiplayer hero-shooter Rogue Company, instead offering players a new limited-time mode called “Extraction” to bide their time. The delayed update officially went live Monday, offering players access to a new map called “Vice” based in Miami, Florida, a new system to punish those who quit matches, and a training area. Vice frames matches in the midst of a perpetual EDM festival called the Zero Drop Raid, bathed in pastel purples and oranges from a sunset that one might expect thanks to shows like Miami Vice....

A recent change to the Xbox website hints at the possibility that Xbox Live Gold will be phased out and replaced with something entirely different in the coming months. This rumor is founded on the fact that fans can no longer buy year long subscriptions to Xbox Live Gold. For a long time, Xbox Live Gold was the gold standard for a paid internet subscription. NBC comedy variety show Saturday Night Live is no stranger to poking fun at video games. The pirate’s life just got a little easier. Sea Of Thieves developer Rare just released an update to the game today that fixes a lot of bugs, and also scraps a feature before it was even implemented. The game was meant to have a “Death Cost” that would penalize players for meeting their end at sea or to the game’s many hostile entities. However, due to a large amount of player outrage over the feature, Rare has decided to get rid of it....
