As the creative minds behind Netflix’s mega-hit Stranger Things, Ross and Matt Duffer know a thing or two about developing an original idea into a television series. Therefore it should come as no surprise that the brothers have chosen to share their process with other would-be TV writers in a new set of videos and instructional materials on MasterClass. Part of the behind-the-scenes journey includes a look at never-before-seen planning documents that reveal how the show evolved into what it is today....

Since the surprise announcement of the return of Six Days in Fallujah, the game has been in the news quite a bit. Hot off the announcement of the return of Crash Bandicoot at PlayStation Experience comes news that the same Activision studio working on Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy will also be working on Destiny. Destiny’s creator and primary developer, Bungie, tweeted the news today: It’s clear that Activision is building out a team of studios to work on the Destiny franchise, similar to how it has brought in “helper” studios to work on Call of Duty....

Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls series has been hugely popular since its creation, each installment breaking the limits of what we as gamers consider the peak of open world fantasy. The Greybeards are mysterious and powerful, fans know little about them and even less about the Dragonborn’s mentor, Arngeir. Arngeir is unlike any NPC in Skyrim. He is a powerful mage who uses Thu’um and Shouts to serve his master, Paarthurnax. He teaches the player how to control and best use this power and serves as a useful mentor and incredibly cool NPC. However, just like the Greybeards themselves, Arngeir is surrounded by so much mystery that even those who have clocked in over 100 hours in Skyrim are yet to discover the secrets he holds....

Discovering Skyrim’s exciting and immersive open-world is one part of the experience. Finding rare and unique weapons, however, is the other half. Those who are familiar with Daedric Princes and the quests that often involve doing their more or less twisted bidding will also know just how powerful some of their quest rewards and artifacts are. The Dawnbreaker is perhaps the least dark and chaotic reward from a Daedric Prince Meridia, mostly due to her being a creature of the light and despising all things undead....

There is much to do in Bethesda’s biggest masterpiece, Skyrim. You can slay a dragon, get rag-dolled by a giant, receive and complete quests, explore caves, barter with merchants, and decorate your home. It’s a true open-world experience that gives players the freedom to experience the land of Skyrim however they choose. However, even with so much to do and see, adventuring can still get lonely. For some, Skyrim’s vast landscape is best experienced with a like-minded (or at the very least, entertaining) companion....

If there’s one thing that’s important for a fighting game to have these days, it’s good netcode. With the pandemic canceling in-person tournaments and keeping everyone at home, the only option for fighters is to play over the internet, and that means any fighting game’s netcode has to be as smooth as possible. Most modern fighting games use a form of rollback netcode to handle their internet traffic. Rollback netcode is a type of predictive algorithm that will try to guess what a player’s input will be if there’s a momentary connection loss....

The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War PlayStation 4-exclusive Alpha is now in full swing, and Alpha is proving a fitting description. Early reports from Alpha players indicate that there are a variety of troublesome and frustrating issues with Black Ops Cold War. The worst error, or at least one that appears to be getting quite a bit of visibility, is preventing players from joining a match. When searching for games, players will receive the error “The lobby is not joinable” rather than joining a game....

We hate to say it, but Cyberpunk 2077 - one of the most anticipated releases of the year - has been a big disappointment to most. A handful of modders have been taking the game into their own creative studios to produce better-looking versions, and one creator even made a PS1 trailer for the action-RPG. Netflix released the first trailer for Space Force, a new workplace comedy starring Steve Carell. While The Office cast may be more likely to reunite on John Kransinki’s YouTube channel, the new Netflix show could appeal to fans of the NBC sitcom. In Space Force, Carell plays a general in the United States Army who finds himself working with a scientist to get the Army’s Space Force off the ground. The new Netflix show, which is made by the same team as The Office, is full of quietly funny moments like Carell’s character dancing to Kokomo by The Beach Boys or a failed rocket launch that’s worth four new middle schools....

Prior to Captain America: Civil War the future of the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man was locked away in Sony’s glass cabinet. Thankfully, due to wise business sense, Sony and Marvel worked out a deal to bring the wall-crawler to the MCU to fantastic acclaim. Both collaborations, Homecoming and Far from Home were such huge successes that they brought the superhero to the forefront of the new wave of Marvel properties like Infinity War....

In its latest report to investors, Activision confirmed that it is planning to release even more remastered games in 2018. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was a huge success when it launched on PS4 last year and the publisher is interested in building on that even more by remastering even more classic games from its library. There is new evidence that the next series Activision plans to remaster is Spyro the Dragon, the platforming series that featured a purple, fire-breathing dragon in its titular role....
