Risk of Rain 2 is all about survival. You must fight your way through the planet, but this can be a little difficult to do alone. Fortunately, Risk of Rain 2 has a polished co-op mode. As with any game with a co-op feature, there are some ideal character duos to choose from. This guide will go over some great combos to play with a friend. But, before we go over which characters work well with each other, let’s go over some duos that aren’t so great....

In a world-first for the music industry, rock band The Dead Daisies has teamed up with London-based agency Creative Works to create its very own free-to-play FPS mobile game, Daisys Revenge. The band has created its own eponymous animated heroine, Daisy, whose narrative fans have already been introduced to when she appeared in the band’s music video for their single Bustle and Flow. Now, her story continues in Daisys Revenge, a “rock-fuelled rapid-fire retro mobile game” that is based on the popular Duck Hunt console game from the ’80s....

Mini-Copters were first introduced way back in 2019, and these are used to launch air-assaults on enemy bases and traverse the map quickly; modular cars were added in 2020 and allow for a lot of customization, and boats are used to travel across water. Cars are a great way to get running quickly but can be expensive to maintain, and Mini-Copters and Scrap Heli are some of the most sought-after vehicles in the game....

The upcoming Bandai Namco title Scarlet Nexus looks like it’s setting up to be an impressive JRPG, bringing some fast-paced action and sci-fi style to next-gen consoles. However, while some of its inspirations in the genre are clear, such as Platinum Games’ Astral Chain, some players may be starting to comment on the Sword Art Online vibes that Bandai Namco’s flashy new title seems to be giving off. Starting with the art and continuing into the sci-fi setting of Scarlet Nexus, the two series have quite a bit of crossover, even if it isn’t an exact one-to-one comparison....

New Blood Interactive’s excellent score attack FPS game Ultrakill is now available in early access. Pushed live earlier today, the current build features 15 levels of Devil May Cry-inspired goodness that will push your reflexes to the test. Having already played an earlier build a few months game, I can attest to this game’s quality: It’s damn good. While the demo version is still available for you to sample, you can pay for the early access build to play through the entire first episode and get a feel for some later levels....

In 2011, developer Grasshopper Manufacture released a single-player action game called Shadows of the Damned for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Published by Electronic Arts, the game was the result of a collaboration between two designers, Goichi Suda of No More Heroes fame and Shinji Mikami, who has worked on Resident Evil games and The Evil Within. Several years later, in July 2020, Shadows of the Damned disappeared unexpectedly from the Microsoft Store and the digital version of the game could no longer be purchased....

Sony has experienced several shifts at the top over the last few months. Gavin Goulden is the art director behind Spider-Man PS4 and the upcoming Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Before Goulden earned his art director title, however, he spent 15 years as a character artist, and he’s recently decided to use his free time to flex those skills a bit — and flex he certainly does. Goulden went ahead and — as he puts it — “doodled” popular Marvel villain Doctor Doom, and as one can expect from someone who’s been doing character art professionally for over 15 years, the piece is simply eye-catching....

For over 25 years, the Resident Evil franchise has been the premier name in horror gaming. Across that time, the series has delivered scares, thrills, and a series of stories that have gradually formed one of the most complicated and bizarre mythologies in all of gaming. While there are a few somewhat forgettable Resident Evil stories, I find that the average Resident Evil story tends to be either bafflingly bad or the kind of narrative that helped to redefine the genre....

The original Resident Evil on PlayStation shows its age, but not in a way that reflects poorly on the game. If anything, the fact Resident Evil is so reflective of its era not only amplifies the game’s charge, it actually adds to the horror in some cases. Rather than recreating Resident Evil as it was, Capcom’s 2002 remake strived to present the survival horror experience they envisioned beyond the limitations of the PlayStation 1’s hardware....
