Sea of Thieves is a fun game, and it can be even more enjoyable when experienced with friends and other pirates. However, sometimes players want to sail alone, and it can be hazardous to do this. A lot of new players and also veterans have only experienced sailing with friends, and as such, they aren’t very experienced with sailing the waters alone. If players want to survive in Seaof Thieves by themselves, then they will need to stay alert and follow some guidelines so that they don’t become an easy target for other pirates, among many other sea creatures, that are sailing in the same ocean....

Sega announced earlier this week that the company would be releasing a miniature version of the Game Gear, a handheld system produced by Sega in the early 90s and was discontinued in 1997. The company is doing this as a way of celebrating the company’s 60th anniversary. Though, the miniature versions of the Game Gear are unfortunately missing a cult classic title from this bygone era of gaming. While the Game Gear wasn’t the most popular piece of gaming hardware upon its release, having unfortunately lagged behind the Game Boy in terms of sales, it remains a treasured piece of gaming history....

Like From Software’s Dark Souls franchise, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is built around a series of challenging boss fights designed to push players to their limits. Whenever players successfully beat a boss in Sekiro, they know that they are one step closer to completing the game, and so knowing how many bosses there are is a good indication of how long it takes to beat the game. Besides the main set of bosses, Sekiro also has a slew of mini-bosses that players can take on as well....

Despite being a completely original IP, there’s no denying that Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice fits comfortably in with the other games in the Souls-like genre. The game certainly puts its own unique spin on things, but the base elements, such as demanding bosses, continue to be a major draw for dedicated players. While technically a mini-boss, O’Rin of the Water is arguably just as difficult as some of the mandatory bosses in the game....

Update 6/16: A new rumor suggests that Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice DLC is not in development. Original story follows. Despite the game’s extreme difficulty, many players are certain to have now completed Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and a number of these fans are likely to have seen all of Sekiro’s endings as well. As such, players may now be wondering if they will have the opportunity to continue their adventures through Sengoku period Japan with some future Sekiro DLC....

Developer Ys Net revealed today in a Kickstarter update that another member of the original Shenmue development team is returning to work on Shenmue 3. Keiji Okayasu is the newest member of the Shenmue 3 development team, joining a long list of returning members from the original Shenmue crew, which includes the game’s creator, writer, character designer, composer, and programmer. Okayasu was around during the early stages of development of the original games....

With rumors seeming to telegraph the franchise’s return for a while now, it seems many are expecting big things from Silent Hill in the near future. Not only has Konami been quite vocal in admitting that it wants to bring back the dormant horror IP, but several Silent Hill rumors have claimed that the title is well on its way to returning, both in the form of a standard sequel and a choice-based adventure game similar to that of Telltale’s The Walking Dead....

One of the highest-rated yet criminally overlooked games of 2019 was Slay the Spire, a game that combines roguelike features with a deck-building experience. Initially only available for computers, Slay the Spire has since been ported to consoles and is now finally making its way to iOS devices later this month. A specific release date for Slay the Spire hasn’t been announced beyond that it’s releasing this month. More information is expected to come at the Guerrilla Collective event, itself part of Summer Games Fest, so it’s possible that the exact release date will be announced on June 6....

In the case of Activision, 2019 will see changes internally, as one of the key members behind the success of the Call of Duty franchise in recent years will be leaving to pursue new endeavors. Glen Schofield, co-founder of Sledgehammer Games, will be leaving Activision at the end of December....

SNK’s RPG mobile spin-off, SNK AllStar, is probably only really known to die-hard fans of SNK, due to it featuring a massive roster of characters from several of its franchises, like Fatal Fury, King of Fighters, and Metal Slug (not to be confused with the King of Fighters AllStar mobile game, which featured a crossover with WWE this year). Hunter x Hunter is one of the most fascinating series I have ever watched. It meaningfully grapples with toxic masculinity, features a wide range of uniquely intriguing characters, and offers some of the most tasteful fantasy writing around town. At this year’s virtual Gamescom, Spellbreak announced that it will officially be launching on September 3. The game is developed by Proletariat, a fairly new studio composed of industry veterans. Originally slated to be a premium title, Spellbreak recently pivoted to a free-to-play model. Considering the depth of the battle royale market, it’s a move that makes a lot of sense – competing with the likes of Apex Legends and Fortnite is hard enough without a price tag....
